“Although I grew up in Banská Bystrica, I had been drawn to Špania Dolina since I was young. I once admired its beauty from the roof of a cottage being renovated by my friend’s father, where I was helping out during the holidays. At the time, I had no idea that this place would one day draw me in for good and that I would eventually spend such a large part of my life here.

For me, Sonnenberg is a place where the noise of everyday life gradually fades away. Here, I can pause, take a breath and rediscover the simplicity of the things that truly matter.

Špania Dolina is also full of stories. Some are hidden in its mining history, while others live in its old houses, local legends and the memories of its residents. I love sharing them with friends and guests who choose to become part of our story, even if only for a while.”

"I come from Vojvodina and from a community of Slovaks who have preserved their language, customs and songs for generations. I still carry their determination, strong sense of community and closeness with me today.
